Evermil manufactured by Glenmark (Onkos), is generic version of the drug Everolimus. It comes in pack of 10 tablets. Evermil is a prescription oncology medicine that can be purchased by a patient only against a valid prescription of a healthcare professional. Evermil (Everolimus) is currently used as an immunosuppressant to prevent rejection of organ transplants. It is also used to treat certain types of cancer that has spread to other parts of the body.
Everolimus belongs to the group of medicines known as antineoplastics (cancer medicines). It interferes with the growth of cancer cells and slows their spread in the body.
Everolimus is also used together with other medicines to lower the body's natural immunity in patients who receive kidney or liver transplants. When a patient receives an organ transplant, the body's white blood cells try to get rid of (reject) the transplanted organ. Evermil works to suppress the immune system and prevents the white blood cells from getting rid of the transplanted organ.
When you take Evermil, it’s important to be aware of changes in your body and how you feel. This cancer medicine may cause some side effects. Most side effects from Everolimus are common, but a few can be serious. Side-effects may vary for each individual depending on the person's disease state, age, weight, gender, ethnicity and general health. The following is a list of possible side-effects that may occur in medicines that contain Everolimus :
Common Side Effects of Evermil Tablets : Vomiting ; Weight loss ; Nosebleeds ; Nausea ; Dry skin ; Pain or sores in the mouth and throat ; Temporary hair loss ; Pain in your arms and legs ; Diarrhea ; Constipation ; Decreased appetite ; Changes in taste or unusual taste in your mouth ; Wound problems (such as slowed wound healing) etc.
Serious Side Effects of Evermil Tablets : Stabbing chest pain ; Seizure (convulsions) ; White patches or sores inside your mouth or on your lipsn ; Pain or burning when you urinate ; Jaundice (yellowing of your skin or eyes) ; Purple or red pinpoint spots under your skin ; Feeling short of breath etc.
These are not all the side effects with Everolimus 10 mg. Tell your healthcare provider about any side effect that bothers you or does not go away.
Before Taking Everolimus cancer drug, it is important to understand all precautions or safety information associated with it. Follow the following prescription medicine precautions :
Evermil 10 mg may be harmful in pregnancy and there is a potential risk of miscarriage or carrying a child with birth defects if you or your partner becomes pregnant during this time. Take proper medical help in case you are pregnant, may be pregnant or planning to become pregnant in the near future.
You should not be taken Evermil, if you are breast-feeding or plan to breast-feed. This is because the drugs could be passed to your baby through breast milk. As Everolimus may cause serious side effects in a breast-fed baby, talk to your doctor about whether you should continue breast-feeding.
Your doctor will do regular blood tests to check for side effects of Everolimus. Blood tests help doctors check for certain diseases and conditions. They also help check the function of your organs and show how well treatment is working.

If you use other prescription drugs or over the counter products at the same time, the effects of this cancer medicine may change. Tell your doctor about all the drugs, vitamins, and herbal supplements you are using, so that your pharmacist can help you prevent or manage drug interactions.
If you miss a dose of Evermil 10mg, contact your doctor immediately to establish a new dosing schedule. Be careful not to take doses too close together because you might get side effects. Do not take 2 doses of it at the same time to make up for the missed dose.
After the expiry date, medicines may not be safe or lose some or all of their effectiveness. You should not take Evermil after their expiry date. If you've had a medicine for a while, check the expiry date before using it. If it has expired or is damaged, return it to your pharmacist for disposal.
During your treatment with Everolimus, it is very important for your doctor to know about your medical history if you have Kidney problems, hepatitis B, liver problems, HIV (human immunodeficiency virus), triglycerides, diabetes or other health problems.
What are the storage instructions for Evermil 10 mg ?
Patients must properly store the drug to retain its quality and efficacy. Following storage instructions will be helpful in storing the drug in the best of manner.
• Store Everolimus at room temperature of 25°C (77°F); excursions permitted to 15°C to 30°C (59°F to 86°F).
• Make sure to always keep your medicine in an area of your home that is out of the reach of children and pets.
• Consider storing your medications separately from your other family members. You can put them on a different shelf, or in a different cabinet or drawer.
Do not keep Evermil in the glove compartment of your car. Medicine can get too hot, cold, or wet there.
Always store this cancer medicine out of reach and out of sight of children.
Store it in a cool, dry place, protected from light and refrigerated when necessary. Improper storage can affect the effectiveness and shelf life of your medicine.
