World No Tobacco Day

Currently every year a total of around 6 million people worldwide, are succumbed to death due to tobacco. Tobacco smoke contains over 60 chemicals known to cause cancer. It may causes cancer of the Tongue, Mouth, Throat, Nose, Nasal sinus, Voice box, Oesophagus pancreas, Stomach, Liver, Kidney, Bladder, Ureter, Bowel, Cervix, Ovary, and Bone marrow (myeloid leukemia).

Smoking not only affects the smoker’s health, it also greatly influences the surrounding atmosphere. Tobacco Smoking also pollutes the air, litters our streets, water, and results in accidental ingestion by small animals and children. In a bid to inculcate awareness among people about the dangers of using tobacco, the World Health Organization (WHO) observes the World NO Tobacco Day on the May 31st each year. This observance brings worldwide awareness to the health risks associated with tobacco use, and reinforces the importance of effective strategies to reduce tobacco use.

On World No Tobacco Day, Here in this page Drugssquare is highlighting how tobacco threatens the development of nations worldwide, and is calling on governments to implement strong tobacco control measures. These include banning marketing and advertising of tobacco, promoting plain packaging of tobacco products, raising excise taxes, and making indoor public places and workplaces smoke-free. Our online pharmacy is doing our best to encourage the audience to quit smoking to protect our planet and its people.
