ORS Day is held every year on 29th July to highlight the importance of Oral Rehydration Salts (ORS) as a cost-effective method of health intervention. Acute diarrhoeal diseases are one of the leading causes of mortality in infants and young children in many developing countries. ORS’s – Oral Rehydration Solutions – are used to correct and prevent dehydration in young children. The solutions contains the right mixture of minerals such as sugar, potassium, salt, etc. which all help replace body fluids lost by children who have diarrhea or are vomiting.

The World’s Population : One of Our Biggest Problems
