What does Daclitof do?

Daclitofis a direct-acting antiviral drug that indicated for use with another antiviral medication for the treatment of chronic (long-lasting) Hepatitis C virus infection. The active substance in Daclitof is Daclatasvir which blocks the action of a protein in the hepatitis C virus called ‘NS5A’, that is essential for viral reproduction. By blocking this protein, the medicine stops the hepatitis C virus from multiplying in the body.

Daclatasvir 60 mg Common Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention. Check with your heath care provider immediately if any of the following adverse effects occur:

Headache; Fatigue; Nausea; Diarrhea; low levels of iron in the blood (anemia); Rash; Insomnia; Dizziness; drowsiness; Itching/Swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat); Trouble breathing etc.

Daclatasvir 60 mg - Special Warnings & Precautions

Before Taking Daclatasvir hepatitis medication, it is important to understand all precautions or safety information associated with it. Follow the following prescription medicine precautions :

Missed Dose : It’s important to try and take Daclitof tablet at the same time every day. But, Missing a dose of the medicine is common among the patients. In case a dose of Daclatasvir has been missed, patients must take it as soon as they remember. If it is almost the time for the next dose, patients should skip the missed dose and resume with regular dose. Doubling the dose of Daclitof is strictly not recommended. If you are not sure what to do, please consult with your health care provider.

Overdose : Patients are advised to be careful in not accidentally overdosing on the medicines. If overdose has occurred, the patient must be immediately provided with necessary medical attention. Overdose victims may experience symptoms of low blood sugar that may include sweating, fast heartbeat, weakness, headache, irritability, confusion, stomach pain etc.

Allergies : Tell your doctor if you have ever had any unusual or allergic reaction to Daclitof or any other medicines. Also tell your health care professional if you have any other types of allergies, such as to foods, dyes or preservatives. Pregnancy : Naturally, if you are pregnant and taking Daclatasvir medicine, one of your greatest concerns will be for your unborn child.   • >> have liver problems other than hepatitis C infection.
  • >> have had a liver transplant.
  • >> have heart problems.

Daclitof Daclatasvir Storage Instructions

Patients must properly store the drug to retain its quality and efficacy. Following storage instructions will be helpful in storing the drug in the best of manner. The major instructions one should follow while storing Daclitof include:

  • >> Store Daclatasvir tablets in a cool and dry place (Not in refrigerator).
  • >> Discard the medicine if its expiry date has crossed.
  • >> Keep this HCV medicine away from the reach of children or pets. A locked cupboard at least one-and-a-half meters above the ground is a good
    place to store medicines.
  • >> Keep your tablets in the original container until it is time to take them.
  • >> Do not store Daclatasvir or any other medicine in the bathroom or near the kitchen sink. Do not leave it in the car. Heat and dampness can destroy some medicines.
